FILM TITLE - TRUTH BE TOLD (84 mins)
Awarded the Best Original Film in Competition at the Asian Film Festival of Rome 2007, Truth Be Told stars Mediacorp artiste Yvonne Lim as TV producer Renee Donovan, who is running away from her own ugly past as she examines
the dark side of life in Singapore's public housing.
Director - Teo Eng Tiong
Eng Tiong graduated from Ngee Ann Polytechnic's Film, Sound and Video Programme in 1997, emerging as one of the top students in his cohort. He has
produced and directed numerous award-winning productions ranging from documentaries, short films through to corporate videos. Truth Be Told marks
his directorial debut for the long form. He is currently developing his second movie.

FILM TITLE - MINUTE (11 mins)
“They say Time is God's way of preventing everything from happening at once.” Alwyn wakes up one morning to find his wife, Caryl missing from his side. Has she left him for good?
Director - Derek Tan
A three-day camera crash course started Derek’s journey in filmmaking. Digging through the library for film books, making experimental short films and teaching others how to make films was his film school. He joined nuSTUDIOS Film Productions in 2005, and took on the role as its President in 2007, which exposed him to a vision of not just making films but also promoting his passion for films to everyone. |

FILM TITLE - BU YE TIAN (13 mins)
Set against the backdrop of Chinatown, a hard-boiled detective, Hock (Sunny Pang), is hired by the wife of the wealthy Mr. Chan to investigate the extra-marital activities of her husband. When he turns up dead in a seedy hotel room, Hock is thrown into a web of lies, murder and surprises with Mr. Chan's daughter, Michelle (Magdalene Tan), the femme fatale, in tow.
Director - Leon Cheo
In 2006, Leon graduated from the School of Film & Media Studies, Ngee Ann Polytechnic. His thesis film Bu Ye Tian is a group project which was named Best Film Production that year. Besides winning Silver and Gold Crowbar Awards in 2007, the film was also screened at festivals in Hong Kong and Belgium.

FILM TITLE - MY BLUE HEAVEN (20 mins)
A coming of age dark comedy, about a little boy who lives with his abusive father, and how a fateful afternoon of watching his father's porn video tape turns his life upside down.
Director - Yee-wei Chai
Yee-wei loves to entertain, and he makes films to entertain. He hopes that one day, he will make films that will touch and entertain and educate audiences all around the world.
Yee-wei had won a Merit Award at Panasonic MDA DFF 2005 for Lau-Sai and Fly By Night 2005 Judges’ Pick for Loser. Blood Ties is his 3rd short that has won the 3rd prize for the 2nd Panasonic MDA Digital Film Fiesta, 2nd prize at the 2nd Rebel Planet of Hollywood Short Film Fest (Horror Category), and it is official selection for the 2007 Asian Film Symposium S-Express Showcase, The 2007 Singapore Season showcase in Beijing Film Academy, as well as the 3rd Evil City Film Fest of NYC 2007. Yee-wei recently completed his new short film My Blue Heaven, which will be traveling the film festival circuit soon. |

FILM TITLE - KICHIRO (20 mins)
Kichiro is a Chinese-Japanese student borne to a rich and influential family. Plagued by adolescent boredom and sick of social pretenses, Kichiro is frustrated with his lifeless existence. These sentiments are shared by Alex, whom Kichiro meets on a chance encounter in a video store. Their friendship breeds a murderous desire to transform their obsession with cinematic violence into reality. Shot as a homage to Japanese ultra-violent cult films, this film is not for the faint-hearted.
Director - Kelvin Sng
Kelvin’s short films have travelled internationally in film festivals to critical acclaim. In 2006, he was awarded the Script Development Grant by the Singapore Film Commission to develop More Than Words, an extension of his 2005 short film of the same title, into a full-length screenplay.
A recipient of the Media Education Scheme Scholarship by the Media Development Authority (MDA), Kelvin has since been actively involved in countless film productions, particularly in the areas of writing, directing and producing.

FILM TITLE - SCENES FROM A BREAKUP (6 mins)
Scenes from a Breakup is the story of the breakdown of a marriage, told documentary-style, from the contrasting points of view of the husband and the wife.
Director - Mark Kwan
Mark currently teaches full-time at Bedok Town Secondary School. A life-long film buff, Mark has directed a half-dozen short films and was the recipient of two merit awards at the 2006 National Scriptwriting Competition, in the Feature Film and Television Pilot categories. He is presently working on a feature-length script, "Lies", a contemporary drama about the secret lives of two seemingly picture-perfect couples. |

FILM TITLE - FALLEN (12 mins)
Fallen is set in the near future. It follows the story of two men, a husband who is a suspect in the murder of his wife and a police office who is suffering from the pressures of his marriage. The husband, stalked by his mistress, claims that his mistress is the person who murdered his wife. The officer believes that the husband is lying.
In the course of the investigation, the policeman slowly discovers more about the husband, he also discovers his own state of being as well.
Director - Chua Jingdu
Graduated from the School of Film & Media Studies in Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Jingdu has a diploma in Film, Sound & Video. He is presently working on The Moment, Monique and Harsh City, at the same time penning a horror screenplay. |

FILM TITLE - REFLECTIONS OF INSANITY (14 mins)
Reflection of Insanity is a horror comedy about two guys, Jet and Kid that was disturbed by a ghost after stumbling across an old hand mirror. They didn’t know that the old mirror used to belong to an old drag queen 20 years ago and her spirit had been trapped in the mirror ever since. A roller coaster ride of fear and mayhem in a night, how will the two guys get rid of the unwanted visitor?
Director - Ezzam Rahman
Ezzam is a practicing artist and an accidental film producer graduated from LASALLE SIA College of the Arts, with a diploma in Fine Arts, Sculpture. As an artist, he has participated in numerous local and regional group exhibitions and festivals. |

FILM TITLE - BLOCK 46 (13 mins)
Block 46 tries to unearth Singapore’s darkest secret about the mass suicide that happened on 6 April 2006, where 6 people committed suicide by jumping down from the building’s roof. The incident remains shrouded in mystery as the media were not allowed to cover the tragedy.
Director - Ghazi Alqudcy
Ghazi likes to tell stories through the medium of Digital Film. Currently a student at a Republic Polytechnic, his works varies from narrative, experimental and documentaries. Running on a very thin line of the fence between sexuality and loss, he produces works such as campy queer dramas, fictionalized homicide activities, exquisiteness of prayers and more.
To support his passion, he works on a freelance basis. His recent client includes Microsoft Asia-Pacific, Singapore Press Holdings, OCBC Bank, The SGA Firm. He has a motto to drive him, ‘Buy less t-shirt, and make more films!’
A recipient of the Goh Chok Tong Youth Promise Award Scholarship 2007, Ghazi makes a promise to himself to continue telling interesting stories. Apart from that, he loves to cook dinner with his friends and indulge in a slumber party. |

Colours is the story of a colour-blind girl's journey to find colours in her life. She ends up seeing more colours than she bargained for, but will she live happily ever after?
Director - Derrick Lui and Lee Chee Tian
Derrick Lui - Derrick graduated with High Distinctions in Media Studies from Murdoch University, Australia, and started his career at MTV Asia as a producer. He now works for the Singapore Ministry of Education, producing various corporate videos, dramas and documentaries for educational purposes.
Lee Chee Tian - Chee Tian’s gift in creative writing has won him awards in song-writing and scriptwriting competitions. As an active drama practitioner, he shows his versatility in writing, directing and acting in various stage, TV and film productions.

FILM TITLE - MY KEYS (8 mins)
Tim wakes up to prepare for a new day of work with enthusiasm just like any other day. To his dismay, he couldn't find his keys to get out of the house. Desperate, he turns to the altar and pleaded for help from the Goddess of Mercy. His fate lies in her hands.

Szu Kiong attended film courses in Objectifs and Media Academy. My Keys is his first short film.

Filmmaker wannabe, Ah-Tan is sick of his day job. Join Ah-Tan on his way to work one day, as he discusses and pokes fun at local film and music, while plotting his path to become Singapore's next great director. This dark comedy on the difficulties of making film and music will leave you wondering about the state of the Arts in Singapore!

Jacen got lucky when his first short film, Tak Giu (Kick Ball), gained a cult following with 100,000 views in 6 months after it was distributed free on the Internet. In 2005, his 2nd film, Zo Peng (Go Army), won 2nd place at the Panasonic/MDA Digital Film Fiesta, Short Film Open Category. Jacen's latest films, Zo Gang & Zo Hee continue his well-received style of low budget film making with a unique sense of local humour. |

Zo Hee is the sequel to Zo Gang, specially commissioned by The Substation to celebrate 10 years of its Moving Images film program. Follow Ah-Tan as he continues his journey to make his first film! Zo Hee features cameo appearances by Singaporean filmmakers like Tan Pin Pin and Juan Foo.

FILM TITLE - AH MA (14 mins)
Ah Ma is lying in the hospital, her life hanging by a thread. Her family gathers by her deathbed to send her off. Overwhelmed by sadness, they struggle to find their own way of coming to terms with the impending end.
Director - Anthony Chen
Anthony graduated from Ngee Ann Polytechnic's School of Film & Media Studies. Apart from directing in film, Anthony has served as a radio presenter, a freelance movie reviewer and has done work as an actor both on stage and on screen. His graduation film, G-23, which he wrote and directed has gone on to screen at over 25 film festivals around the globe and won awards in Korea, France, Belgium, Malaysia and Singapore. Ah Ma was his second short film effort.

FILM TITLE - REGRETS (17 mins)
A young couple, each with a different family and religious background comes together in an emotional struggle to overcome an unwanted pregnancy that would subsequently change their life perspectives as their journey unfolds.

A recipient of the Media Education Scheme Scholarship by MDA, Derek graduated with an Advanced Diploma in Film Production at Ngee Ann Polytechnic. He currently works as a freelance writer and director. |

FILM TITLE - 20TH ANNIVERSARY: PAK & SON TRAVELS (21 mins)
20th Anniversary: Pak and Son Travels tells the story of a travel agency ran by a father and son team in Singapore in the 1970s. To commemorate the travel company's 20th anniversary, Pak and Son Travels has decided to have a documentary filmed about its joyous 20th anniversary party, but all doesn't go well when the father and son's relationship crumbles with false hope of a joyous day.
Director - Aroozoo Wesley Leon
Wesley is currently an undergraduate at the NTU School of Arts, Design and Media, majoring in filmmaking. He is currently working on his 5th short film entitled 'Hard Boiled Eggs'.

FILM TITLE - THE PODFATHER (7 mins)
The Podfather is a comedy about a Singaporean Mafia man in the Pods business. His success is threatened by the emergence of the cell phone business headed by Olivia Sparx. Will he be able to fend off this new threat or will he collapse under pressure?
Director - Lina Sinuan
Having more than 10 years experience dealing with various aspects of production in theatre, print and video, Lina is constantly the mediator in many “panic attacks” on set! Since young, she has always immersed herself in her passion for drama and storytelling, winning more than 12 champion school awards for both storytelling and public speaking. She loves the theatre and was trained under the guidance of Roger Jenkins who gave her, her first main cast as a storyteller in a public theatre production, Lord of Creations. She then continued to direct and produce several theatre productions such as “Fast Cars and Fancy Women” and “Bra Sizes” which won commendations. Currently directing and producing a few short films and documentaries, Lina prefers to keep a low profile by learning from the people around her. Always geared to learn something new, she is also upgrading herself by attending courses and workshops and is currently working on High Definition format for some of her projects. Besides producing, Lina is also competent as a scriptwriter, camera operator and editor. |
