This committee was elected on 27 July 2015 at the 13th Annual General Meeting. In their term between 2015 -2017, the committee has strengthened SDEA's signature programmes and put in place frameworks to support a sustainable community of practice among drama educators locally and internationally. Under their guidance, SDEA has:
- Deepened youth engagement and valuable partnerships with the arts community, and provided avenues for emerging young talents to develop through drama at the Celebrate Drama! 2016 festival on 15-16 July 2016
- Championed a culture of lifelong learning and research among drama educators through the SDEA Drama Pedagogy course: Essential Teaching and Learning Approaches (ETLA) conducted from October to November 2016 and March to April 2017 respectively, and the launch of the SDEA Library and Resources in May 2017
- Facilitated sharing between drama educators and practitioners from Singapore and international counterparts from Hong Kong and Penang through the international study trip in March 2017, and school visits and dialogues in April 2017
- Advocated for children's theatre and drama in early childhood education at the fourth international SDEA Theatre Arts Conference 2017 which took place from end June to early July 2017
- Brought in eminent practitioners and drama educators such as production manager Audrey Hoo, experiential therapist Sharmini Winslow, artistic director Benjamin Ho, award-winning director Chong Tze Chien, founder of DUENDE John Britton, and Commedia dell'Arte master Marco Luly and award-winning storyteller Roger Jenkins to facilitate a demonstration, a talk and masterclasses between 2015 - 2017
SDEA is a not-for-profit organisation managed by a committee of 9 volunteer members elected on a 2-year cycle. Committee Members are responsible for ensuring good governance for the association, forming partnerships that enhance and further SDEA's Vision and Mission, and head sub committees that programme special projects and core programmes. The Committee is supported by the Secretariat who help look after operations, marketing and logistics.

Ivan Choong has since left the committee in 2020, with Fazli Ahmad taking over as Treasurer having been voted in at AGM 2020.
The Committee is supported by a full-time Secretariat.
The advocacy subcommittee oversees advocacy focused projects and efforts undertaken by SDEA. The group was borne out of the interest group for ideal terms and conditions for drama educators, reorganising as the advocacy subcommittee in 2022.
The subcommittee has published The Arts Freelancer's Playbook: SDEA's Guide To Understanding Contracts, and collaborated with Producers SG to run the Producers Social #31 focused on the Playbook at the SDEA Theatre Arts Conference 2023.
The SDEA Committee 2023-2025 was voted in on 20th September 2023 at the 21st Annual General Meeting.
The committee for the Theatre Arts Conference is made up of the programming and organising committee, led by co-chairpersons Ezzat Alkaff and Rosemary McGowan, and supported by a secretariat.
The SDEA Committee for 2021-2023 was voted in on 4th August 2021, at the 19th Annual General Meeting.
Rosemary stepped down from her President's role on 28 February 2022 due to personal reasons and to focus on her health.
Vice-President Aishwariya held the role of interim President and An Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) was convened on 1 April 2022 for the election of a new President.
At the EGM, Aishwariya was elected as President for 2022–2023.
On 20 April 2022, Commiteee Member Tabitha stepped up as the Vice-President for 2022–2023 with support from the committee. The committee also co-opted Adeeb Fazah to serve as a committee member 2022–2023.
