Make a difference to drama education in Singapore

SDEA attained charity status in 2020 (UEN: T02SS0123G), and we are enroute to attaining our Institute of Public Character (IPC) status.

SDEA is a non-profit arts advocacy organisation run by a volunteer committee voted in by a membership of 150 educators and practitioners, and supported by a full-time secretariat.

In its advocacy work, SDEA engages with as many sectors as possible on how drama and applied drama can be used in educational, organisational and community settings.

If you believe in our mission and in the impact of drama and applied theatre, please consider supporting us to keep our work going.

Some of these efforts include but are not limited to:

  • SDEA's Theatre Arts Conference which happens every 2 years, bringing an international community together
  • Our Drama Pedagogy Certification Course Essentials of Teaching and Learning Approaches, advancing the practice and quality of education given by drama educators
  • The Tina Sergeant Professional Development Initiative which supports the professional development of young drama educators and practitioners
  • Any other advocacy work by our members in the form of interest groups, empowering them to do more
