In this 3-hour session, participants will learn a variety of Drama strategies particularly for the teaching and learning of the Tamil Language. Through this workshop, Tamil Language teachers will develop an understanding of how Drama can extend and deepen the learning of language skills while increasing student engagement and achieving educational goals. Specially designed for Tamil Language teachers, this hands-on workshop aims to inspire teachers to actively adapt and employ tools of Drama in their lessons.

தாய்மொழி ஆசிரியர்களுக்காக பிரத்யேகமாக வடிவமைக்கப்பட்ட இந்த பயிலரங்கின் மூலம், மாணவர்களின் ஈடுபாட்டை அதிகரிக்கவும், கல்வி இலக்குகளை அடையவும், மொழித்திறன்களின் கற்றலை விரிவாக்கவும் நாடகம் எவ்வாறு உதவும் என்பதை புரிந்து கொள்வார்கள்.
Course Objectives:
This course aims to introduce participants to:
- Learn a variety of Drama strategies, for teaching and learning of Mother Tongue languages
- Develop an understanding of how Drama can extend and deepen the learning in the four strands of language learning and acquisition - speaking, listening, reading and writing
- Adapt and adopt drama tools to cater to the needs and objectives of a student or class

About The Facilitator
Aishwariyah Shanmuganathan is an independent Drama Practitioner and Educator. She holds a Master of Education in Drama has been actively involved in community and school-based drama and theatre projects for more than a decade. In addition to her scope of work, she lectures in tertiary institutions, directs, writes and crafts professional development programmes for performers, teachers and corporates. Through her drama based work, she has also reached learners with special needs, beneficiaries of voluntary welfare organisations and youth at rehabilitative spaces. Aishwariyah is currently working towards a doctorate in arts education at National Institute of Education – Visual and Performing Arts (NIE-VPA).
Aishwariyah is also the current President of SDEA (2023-2025).
நாடக பயிற்சியாளர் மற்றும் கல்வியாளராக பணிபுரியும் ஐஸ்வர்யா, நாடகக் கல்வியில் முதுகலைப் பட்டம் பெற்றுள்ளார். அவர், சமூகம் மற்றும் பள்ளிகள் சார்ந்த நாடக பயிலாரங்குகளில் பல வருடங்களாக ஈடுபட்டு வருகிறார். அதற்கும் மேலாக, காலை கல்வியைப் (arts education) பற்றி விரிவுரையாற்றுவது, நாடக நிகழ்ச்சிகளை இயக்குவது, ஆசிரியர்கள் மற்றும் நிறுவனங்களுக்கான தொழில்முறை மேம்பாட்டுத் திட்டங்களை வடிவமைப்பது போன்ற பொறுப்புகளையும் ஏற்றுள்ளார். ஐஸ்வர்யா தற்போது முனைவர் பட்டத்தை அடைய தேசிய கல்வி நிலையதில் (NIE) படித்து கொண்டு வருகிறார்.
தற்போது, சிங்கப்பூர் நாடக கல்வியாளர்கள் கழகதில் 2023 முதல் 2025 வரை பணி ஆற்றும் செயற்குழுவின் தலைவராகவும் உள்ளார்.
