Sketch Comedy Writers Interest Group with Mitchell Fang
Borrowing tips and tricks from comedy writers and writers of comedy, this interest group is a safe space where a regular community of writers experiment with outrageously bad jokes and attempt 'sketch comedy' in collaborative fashion. As actress-comedian Maya Rudolph gently notes, 'you don't have to only be a genius when you write alone'.

Retro Music Writing Club by Kenneth Kwok

The Sketch Comedy Writers Interest Group
Is the theatre an outdated institution? Or is professional millennial Mitchell Fang too damn lazy to write a full length play? Have you been putting off writing for Netflix too? Is every night Saturday Night Live for you? Borrowing tips and tricks from Scott Sedita's 'The Eight Characters of Comedy' and other sources, this interest group is a safe space for outrageously bad jokes and attempting 'sketch comedy' in collaborative fashion, not unlike a writer's room. Join Mitchell for some fun, laughter, and comedic relief in The Sketch Comedy Writers Interest Group.

Collage-Making Art Jam - Self-Care Interest Group
“How are you?”, "How do you feel?" - questions that can be a lot harder to answer than we care to admit, and sometimes when asked, the answer not often truly heard. Set aside some time to check in on yourself, and join us for a Collage-Making Art Jam hosted on Zoom by Rosie McGowan! Gather anything you can find at home – old notes, magazines, receipts, spaghetti, toilet paper – and create a response to the day's given theme.
If I Could Turn Back Time - The Retro Music Writing Club led by Kenneth Kwok
A lot of creative writing comes from our personal memories - and one of the strongest prompts to activate memories is music. This interest group brings members together to share informal pieces of short writing (think the length of a Facebook or Instagram post) inspired by the artists and songs from the greatest decade of pop music: the 80s!

Art Jamming led by Rosie McGowan - Self-Care Interest Group
Think of the old oxygen on a plane scenario - when there's an emergency on a plane, we are told to put the oxygen masks on ourselves first, before we help others. We can't help other people if we're struggling to breathe ourselves. As drama educators, self-care is vital, so that we can give the best to those around us when we need to. For this edition of the self-care interest group led by drama practitioner Rosie McGowan, we'll be doing some art jamming and creating our own little self-care jars! For reference, this is what they look like:
