SDEA

Tina Sergeant Professional Development Initiative

Open to local and international theatre practitioners and drama educators, SDEA pledges $500 towards SDEA’s professional development training programmes which includes any SDEA workshops and masterclasses, the SDEA Drama Pedagogy course and the SDEA Theatre Arts Conference.

The Tina Sergeant Professional Development Initiative is open throughout the year. The table below lists the key application deadlines:

i. National Arts Council

- Grants Framework The National Arts Council nurtures and champions Singapore’s arts community through its Grants Framework which includes the Seed Grant, Major Company Scheme, Creation Grant, Production Grant, Presentation and Participation Grant, Market and Audience Development Grant, Capability Development Grant, Research Grant, Arts Fund, and Traditional Arts Repository Grant.

- Capability Development Grant The Capability Development Grant supports the exposure to and learning in diverse areas of functions and practices within the arts. This grant can be used for workshops, masterclasses, seminars, conferences, residencies and many other professional training and skills development programmes.

The Capability Development Grant is open for application six times a year. The table below lists the key application deadlines.:

- NAC Arts Scholarship

The NAC Scholarships provide support to outstanding individuals who wish to advance their career in the arts and lead positive changes in the areas of artistic practice, production, engagement and/or management. Scholarships are offered for the pursuit of studies in the priority areas identified at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

ii. SkillsFuture Singapore

- SkillsFuture Credit

Singaporeans aged 25 and above are eligible for SkillsFuture Credit of $500 from January 2016. The credit can be applied to the courses at SkillsFuture Course Directory here . This includes the SDEA Drama Pedagogy course which provides instructors with the appropriate certification to conduct NAC-AEP Arts Experience workshops.

- SkillsFuture Study Award

The SkillsFuture Study Award provides mid-career Singaporeans with relevant working experiences in their sectors (inc. Early Childhood & Adult Education) with a monetary award of S$5,000 to defray out-of-pocket expenses associated with the course they wish to take.

iii. Asia-Europe Foundation

ASEF Cultural Mobility Initiative 2018

The Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF)’s Mobility First! grant supports international travel for artists and cultural professionals between Asia and Europe. In its pilot year in 2017, Mobility First! has enabled the participation of a total of 73 artists and cultural practitioners in the ASEM region for a wide range of capacity building activities, including networking and pre-creation of artworks (training, study visits, partnership meetings) and artwork creation (artists' and writers' residencies) to public presentations (festivals, biennales, conferences).
