Learning English the fun way while raising standards – a primary school programme called Strategies for English Language Learning and Reading (STELLAR) strives to do just that. Channel News Asia reported on the impact of the programme since its introduction to primary schools in 2006 and included a soundbite by programme director Dr Elizabeth Pang that highlights the skillsets that a drama educator has to have and the value of drama in education.
Dr Elizabeth Pang, who is the programme director of literacy development at the Ministry of Education, said: "The teachers need to be trained on dramatic techniques as well as pedagogy.
